New Oxbow Park Campground Adds 42 Electric Sites, Four Cabins

Olmsted County Parks and Trails will open a new campground at Oxbow Park in Minnesota on September 1, 2026, relocating operations away from a flood-prone site that has required costly repairs over the years. The new location will include 42 electric sites, water hookups, a dump station, and four ADA-accessible camper cabins, along with Wi-Fi access and a playground. The former campground area will be repurposed as a youth group camping site and restored to native prairie or open green space.

The project, funded through Minnesota’s Parks and Trails Legacy Fund, reflects an approach among public campground operators of relocating infrastructure to higher ground to address recurring flood risk rather than continuing repeated repairs.
