After almost a year of renovation, the Green Bay Campground is set to reopen. Sandpoint Ranger District officials said sites at the popular campground will open for reservations starting at 7 a.m. Friday, July 25. A zoning change impacting 221 acres of county-owned property in Jefferson Proving Ground was approved by County Commissioners Thursday, to advance plans to develop a campground at Krueger Lake. A new campground and beach access project estimated to cost $33 million will soon begin at Fort Ord Dunes State Park on part of the 837 acres that were once an Army base but have been serving the public as a state park since 2009. Downtown Anchorage is one step closer to getting an RV resort. The Anchorage Assembly passed an ordinance on June 24 authorizing the Anchorage Community Development Authority to begin developing the site in the eastern part of Downtown.
