Timber Creek Campground Amphitheater on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) welcomed visitors to free ranger-led programs this season after significant repairs and upgrades took place this year, thanks to a $25,000 gift from Rocky Mountain Conservancy. After more than a decade of planning and three years of dedicated construction, the Colville (Wash.) Elks Lodge #1753 celebrated the official opening of its brand-new, 10-space RV Park on Aug. 19, according to the Statesman Examiner. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of a project that brings new accommodation options to Colville. Located beside the Dominion Meadows Golf Club, the RV Park serves as an addition to the region’s tourism options, according to exalted ruler John Moser. Source

Shawnee County Commissioners Aaron Mays, Kevin Cook and Bill Riphahn unanimously approved the construction of cabins at the Lake Shawnee campgrounds during a Aug. 25 county commissioners meeting. Mays said the project is exciting to see coming to life. “This is fantastic. I know we had talked about this a long time ago and weren’t 100% sure what we were going to put there,” Mays said. “We knew we wanted cabins but we didn’t have the money for it so this is great. Idaho’s Eagle Island State Park’s major upgrades are nearly complete, with a brand-new 50-site RV campground set to open Thursday (Aug. 28), according to KIVI. The campground represents the largest upgrade in the park’s history, featuring full water and sewer hookups at each site. After more than a year of construction, the area has transformed from mainly dirt to a fully equipped camping destination. Eagle Island State Park will have a limited opening on Thursday, Aug. 28. A U.P. (Mich.) resort held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Little Lake on Tuesday (Aug. 20), according to MSN. Forsyth Forward welcomed Charley’s RV Resort Campground to the community. The resort officially opened earlier in August, and campers are already enjoying the resort. The grounds have cabins and 73 full RV hook-up sites. The general store is now open and stocked for campers and locals. Charley’s RV Resort Campground co-owner Jim Delmont says this is just the start. Source
