The Port of Woodland last week announced its acquisition of the Columbia Riverfront RV Park in Woodland for approximately $6.5 million. The nine-acre RV park, which has operated for decades, is situated along the Columbia River, nestled between existing Port of Woodland properties to the north and south. An out-of-state developer is proposing a 257-site campground development for the Town of Dannemora’s Chazy Lake and residents say it could have lasting negative impacts if built. A proposed “Luxury RV Park” will be built at the end of Sovis Road in Madison, not far from Love’s Truck Stop, to create “alternative lodging options” for tourists and short-term tenants.
