Marble Springs Campground’s New Owners Plan Revitalization in Allen, MI

Marble Springs Campground in Allen will soon be brought back to life after being recently bought by the Joswiak family.

Ken and Stacy Joswiak, also owners of Southern Michigan RV in Hillsdale, said that they are excited at the opportunity.

We’ve been in the RV business for just over four years now,” Ken said. “Stacy has always wanted to own a motel or a bed and breakfast, but since we’ve been in the RV business that dream changed to a campground.”

He said they had been searching for one to buy for over a year and are so glad to have found one right in the local community.

Marble Springs Campground has been a staple in the community for close to 100 years, first starting as a park and then transitioning into a campground.

It’s got the only blue spring in Michigan,” Ken explained. “There were about 16 natural springs on the property. It even had a trout hatchery at one point in time.”

Ken said that they have plans to restore a lot of the grounds on the 50+ acre property, including having the ponds cleaned and adding back the trout. They will also do a lot of maintenance and work repairing a dam so the water, lakes, and streams on the property are restored.

The natural beauty of the property will make it the perfect summer vacation spot, Ken said.

It’s got a swimming pond,” he said. “There’s a lot of water. There’s a lot of trees on the property that are not native to Michigan.”

They are even hoping to refurbish a stone fireplace that was built on the property by the original owner.

There will be a lot of different ways to enjoy the property, Ken explained.

It’s going to be a campground. We’re also going to have rentals on the property that will be available,” he said. “We’re going to start selling campers at the front of the property. We’re going to open up tent camping again on the property.”

In addition to the natural beauty of the property, there will also be amenities like a swimming pool, a playground, restrooms, and even a small store.

Ken said that they are looking forward to opening up the campground again to the community in the spring, with all its new additions and updates.

It’ll be a great place to make memories with kids and families,” he said. “There’s so many people we’ve talked to that were out there as kids, that actually fished when the trout were there, and talk about how beautiful it was.”

Now, those people will be able to share those experiences with their families.

This place has been part of the community so long, and we just want to bring it back to that,” Ken said. “I just can’t wait to see it come back to life.”
