Lake Wisconsin Campground received approval from the Columbia County Board of Supervisors Planning and Zoning Committee for a conditional use permit to expand the number of sites on their property.
The request came before the committee in their Nov. 5 meeting, proposing an additional 12 new campsites on the 26.5-acre property at County Highway V and County Highway CS in the Town of Dekorra.
The Lake Wisconsin Campground currently has 160 campsites, a single-family residence, and several recreational facilities. The new campsites are planned off the eastern edge of the property, which would also require construction of new roads, a new septic system, and other expanded infrastructure.
At the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting, supervisors approved the proposal by a 4 to 0 vote, though Supervisor Andrew Kolberg was not present in the meeting.
