New RV park opens near Farmington

A five-space recreational vehicle park has opened at 38 A Road 5474 near Farmington.

The Little Park, owned by Autumn von Flotow, offers internet, 30 amp electrical, water and waste hookups.

Flotow stated in a news release that TLP nests on a cul-de-sac with quiet neighbors and is fenced and gated. The location, halfway between Farmington and Bloomfield, offers easy access to the San Juan River and to hiking and biking trails.

She stated the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the 140,000 people living nomadically doubled or tripled since the COVID-19 pandemic. Her facility offers “modern meanderers a friendly, safe and well-serviced base camp,” she said.

“This entire region is packed with incredible sites, places to explore and adventures to enjoy,” said von Flotow. “Farmington is the ideal spot for people living out of any kind of home on wheels.”

She added that the variety of homes on wheels has expanded in recent years, including conventional RVs, camper vans, a tiny house on wheels and converted school buses.

Initially, The Little Park’s five spaces housed long-term renters living in conventional RVs. Various pandemic-triggered economic factors sent three tenants in search of new lives and careers elsewhere. Inspired by how the Gen X and Millennial generations were adapting remote work to equally remote lifestyles, von Flotow revamped the park to support them.
