Campers can book safari-inspired tents in New Hampshire’s White Mountains next summer.

Under Canvas White Mountains, set on 86 scenic acres with views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range, will open in June 2026. It is the Montana-based adventure-hospitality company’s second New England location: the first opened in 2021 near Acadia National Park in Surry, Maine and was named among the best glamping resorts in America by Vogue last year.

With the launch of Under Canvas White Mountains, we’re deepening our presence in the Northeast and expanding access to some of the region’s most iconic outdoor destinations,” said Matt Gaghen, CEO of Under Canvas, in a statement.

Campers will sleep in safari-inspired canvas tents with West Elm furnishings, king size beds, luxe linens, wood burning stoves, running hot water, ensuite bathrooms with a shower, sink, and flushing toilet, private decks, USB charging packs, and an on-site concierge.

Guests can choose between themed tents such as the “Stargazer Tent,” which has a sky-viewing window above the bed, a “Suite Tent,” which has plenty of room for families or groups, and the “Mount Washington Suite,” which is two tents connected by a private deck and outdoor lounge.

Amenities include seasonal café-style dining on site, communal fire pits, and programming that includes live music, yoga, and outdoor games. The concierge will help visitors plan activities such as hiking, boating, and mountain biking.

The campground is located on the quieter western side of the White Mountains, according to the company, with “easy access to serene outdoor recreation, scenic mountain vistas, forested hiking trails, and charming local treasures—from orchard-fresh apples to rich maple syrup.”

Popular destinations such as Franconia Notch State Park, the Kancamagus Highway, and the Mount Washington Cog Railway are a short drive away, noted the company, as well as “charming” towns such as Littleton, Bethlehem, and Lancaster.

Under Canvas campgrounds are known for their “mindful approach” to camping, which includes a commitment to “sustainability, minimal land disturbance, and thoughtful design that harmonizes with the environment,” according to the company.

The White Mountains have long been a beloved road trip destination for East Coast travelers, and this location allows us to offer an exceptional upscale base camp experience within easy reach of major metro markets, including Boston and New York City,” said Gaghen. “From summit views to scenic drives and endless trails, this camp is a gateway to everything that makes New England’s natural beauty so unforgettable.”

Reservations for Under Canvas White Mountains are now available, with rates starting from $279 per night, plus taxes and fees.

Under Canvas operates a total of 14 camp locations nationwide.
