Southern Sands Signature RV Resort has received a Best Park Award from the Florida RV Park and Campground Association, which represents over 500 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across the Sunshine State.
Southern Sands received the award in the medium park category, which recognizes the top park with 151 to 150 campsites.
“Our intent with these awards is to recognize the best parks in each category, as determined by our independent panel of judges,” said Bobby Cornwell, executive director and CEO of the Florida RV Park and Campground Association, which hosts CampFlorida.com, the travel planning website.
The awards were announced May 8 at the Florida and Alabama Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo awards dinner at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando.
Criteria for Best Park Awards
Best Park Award recipients must have standards for their business, their staff and the way they treat their customers, all of which should be reflected in the park’s reviews and ratings. Award-winning parks must also be well maintained, feature quality facilities, amenities and guest services, and demonstrate track record of guest satisfaction and increased occupancy. These parks must also show the implementation and use of new technology or innovations or recently completed updates or improvements that enhance the park and the guest experience.
Southern Sands, which celebrated its grand opening in February, features 184 spacious RV sites with full hookups. Amenities will include a state-of-the-art clubhouse with a fitness center, game room, five pickleball courts, a beach-entry swimming pool and a dog park area with a wash station. Guests also participate in themed events, arts and crafts workshops, and poolside parties. In addition, the resort offers fishing as well as access to a variety of excursions and tours to nearby attractions.
Southern Sands is located just minutes from Arcadia’s historic downtown district, which offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions. Arcadia is also home to the All-Florida Championship Rodeo held in March, Annual Watermelon Festival, and various car shows, parades and special events that take place throughout the year
