A large vacant lot in East Downtown Anchorage (Alaska) — once the site of a homeless encampment — is set to be transformed into a destination for both locals and tourists, according to Your Alaska Link.
The Anchorage Assembly has approved plans to develop the 3rd & Ingra lot into the Denali View RV Resort, a seasonal RV park that promises to bring new life to the area.
The project includes up to 135 RV spots, as well as a playground, pickleball courts, shops, and walking trails. Plans also call for a memorial and garden to honor Alaska Native history, adding a meaningful cultural element to the development.
“It’s important for this part of downtown because this will be a transformational development for East Downtown,” said Mike Robbins with the Anchorage Community Development Authority.
