The New Mexico State Parks Division is opening a new campground at Coyote Creek State Park. The campground is set to open on March 28 and will include cabins and RV sites.
There will be five RV sites with electricity, water hookups, and modern shelters, including one accessible site. The Aserradero Loop will have five cabins, complete with electric power, wood stoves, interior lighting, and a hydrant, including one fully accessible cabin. Beginning April 1, the cabins and RV sites will be available for reservation online with the NM State Parks online reservation system.
“We’re not just expanding overnight options; we are creating new and modern opportunities for individuals and families to experience their state parks—from beginners to people of all abilities,” Division Director Toby Velasquez said in a release.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon on March 28, followed by an egg hunt at 1 p.m. Community members are invited to attend and preview the new campground.
