Brown County Officials Paves Way for a RV Park in Nashville, TN

Brown County Commissioners last week paved the way for a new recreational vehicle park in downtown Nashville, though most attendees at a public meeting opposed the project and voiced concerns about wildlife, traffic and flooding. Brown County property owner Jimmy Tilton had asked local officials to rezone about 86 acres of land at 279 W. Main St., just southwest of Nashville’s downtown. A local developer’s long-held vision of building and opening a new RV park in Wells is making its way through the town’s planning process. The Wells Planning Board accepted a site plan pre-application Monday for a proposed RV park with 100 campsites at 548 Bald Hill Road. Plans for a proposed RV park in west Duval County are moving forward after actions Dec. 5 by the Jacksonville Planning Commission. The commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval of a rezoning (Ordinance 2023-0326) and small-scale future land use map amendment (Ordinance 2023-0325) for the project, which is along Brandy Branch Road north of Interstate 10 and west of the I-10-U.S. 301 interchange. Commissioners approved the special exception request for the RV Park in the Lake Avalon Rural Settlement. A decision on the Rex Grove RV Park led all November action taken by the Orange County Commission.
