As the RV park and campground industry evolves, keeping up with the latest amenity trends is crucial for attracting today’s modern campers. In 2024, we’re seeing a significant shift towards amenities that cater to both families and adult groups, enhancing the overall outdoor experience.

- Onsite Water Features (fishing ponds, splash pads, swimming pools with designated adult areas or swim times)
- Cornhole Tournament Pits
- Pickleball Courts
- Upgraded Children’s Play Features (bounce pads, Wibit water play courses)
- Golf Cart & Small Boat Rentals (kayaks, paddle boards)
- Onsite Beer Gardens with Communal Gathering/Firepit Areas
As the demographic of the modern camper continues to shift toward millennials, both new campgrounds and ageing parks are actively working to offer spaces that both couples/adult friend groups and young families alike can enjoy. Most modern campers are looking for upgraded amenity packages, and are willing to pay more for an engaging onsite experience. Proper amenity areas built out for families with young children alongside separate adult-centric spaces/activities, have become commonplace in amenity trends throughout 2024. As my mentor Kathleen Walsh has shared for the past 20 years; “amenities drive both occupancy and rate”. Ensuring that the amenities onsite target the industry’s most prominent demographic is the key to this.
