Cameron County announced the launch of a transformative infrastructure improvement project at Isla Blanca Park, located at 33174 State Park Road 100-South, South Padre Island, Texas, according to Texas Border Business.

The initiative will deliver critical upgrades to the park’s utility systems, including the modernization of electrical, water and wastewater infrastructure serving 577 existing RV sites and the realignment of Dodson and Emerald Streets to improve traffic flow and accessibility and create an additional row of RV sites to meet growing demand. Project cost is $12 million.

To ensure safety and efficiency during construction, all 577 RV sites will be temporarily closed for approximately 12 months. Cameron County appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as we carry out these essential upgrades. The public beachside areas of Isla Blanca Park will remain fully open throughout the construction period, and visitors can continue to enjoy the park’s signature amenities, including one mile of pristine gulf shoreline, gulf-side pavilions and boardwalks, jetties, fishing areas and boat ramp, amphitheater and walking trails, and beachside concessions and parking lots servicing these areas.
