Billed as “a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to explore Olympic National Park”, the RV@Olympic project will be built on 9 acres behind the Deer Park Cinemas just east of Port Angeles.
Company President Michael Belasco described for us the concept of the first of what they hope will be many similar projects around the country.
“The brand is RV@, and our motto is, “Seamless Journeys. No compromises”. And the goal is to be located next to these bucket list outdoor destinations, and not inundate you with things on site, but do everything we can to make it comfortable and get you out there. We’re not heavy tech-focused, but tech supported in a way that makes things more accommodating. So, we’re going to do things like a 24-hour cashierless store. So you’ll come in, you’ll get set up, anytime day or night. Two in the morning, something goes wrong in your RV, you’ll be able to get access to a store and get stuff that you need.”
The park will accommodate 98 RVs and include a long list of modern conveniences, including a main building with check-in, laundry, bathrooms, and an indoor community center, a dog park, a dog wash station, a building with private showers and bathrooms, a hot tub area, a kids’ playground, a large outdoor community space with firepits and outdoor games, and fiber optic and 5G internet.
Belasco says they expect to be able to start taking reservations before the end of the year.
“Yeah. So, our plan is to be opened by mid-April. So we’ll be right in time for a soft opening before it hits high season. Our website should go live by mid-November, so people can start making reservations. So that’s the goal, that’s the timeline. We’re right on track at the moment, and hopefully we will meet that deadline.”
It’s called RV@Olympic, and you can learn more about it by visiting rvatolympic.com.
1892 Capital Partners helped fund the RV@Olympic project with a $4.195 million development loan. Company Principal Steve Corliss said in a news release, “We are excited to support sound entrepreneurial real estate moves, such as this project, which aligns with the growing popularity of RV rentals and strategic vacationing. The project’s location outside of Olympic National Park, coupled with extensive due diligence to assess the market potential, makes it an attractive investment. We look forward to working with the experienced project management team at Firm Ridge Real Estate Partners to bring RV@Olympic to life; with a five-generation legacy of investing in Washington, our family office is committed to developing Washington into a place where residents and visitors alike can thrive and experience the region’s unique charm.”
