{"id":3714,"date":"2025-08-11T12:40:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T12:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rvparkiq.com\/industry-insights\/?p=3714"},"modified":"2025-09-24T15:16:40","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T15:16:40","slug":"10-acre-rv-park-proposed-for-north-santa-rosa-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rvparkiq.com\/industry-insights\/10-acre-rv-park-proposed-for-north-santa-rosa-florida\/","title":{"rendered":"10-Acre RV Park Proposed for North Santa Rosa, Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pnj.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2025\/08\/07\/PPEN\/85566623007-blackwater-rv-park-sp.png?width=660&amp;height=627&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Allentown could be home to a new RV park following a development proposal submitted to Santa Rosa County in early August.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Site plans show that the project entails creating an RV park with 49 stalls and a handful of new roads using an almost 10-acre site at 8855 Highway 87 N.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Ken Smith, the owner of truss manufacturing and metal fabricating company Blackwater Truss Systems, confirmed to the News Journal that he\u2019s behind the proposal, but he declined to comment on the plans at this time.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Smith intends to build the RV park about 6 miles away from NAS Whiting Field over five phases of construction, if he can get approval from Santa Rosa County.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The plan calls for 10 stalls and one road to access the site to be developed during each phase except for phase five, which will have nine lots. The initial phase of the project also includes perimeter roads for the RV park.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">County officials have approved three RV park projects so far in 2025 that are coming to Jay, Milton and Navarre.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Santa Rosa County property records show that Smith bought the land where the RV park is proposed for $315,000 in 2022.
