Officials with Kenlake State Resort Park, Governor Andy Beshear and Parks Commissioner Russ Meyer announced Wednesday that a $9.3 million renovation is coming as an improvement to the camping experience.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Approved by the General Assembly during the 2023 legislative session as part of the \u201cNew Kentucky Home\u201d initiative, the financial lift includes 63 full-service campsites, six camper cabins with lake views, a new 2,000-square-foot bathhouse, pull-through sites, sewer connections, new electrical and water lines, more handicap-accessible sites, and two additional restroom facilities near the lake.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n As such, the campground will be closed for the 2025 season, and work is estimated to be completed by spring 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In a written statement, Beshear noted the park\u2019s \u201cfull, rich historical heritage,\u201d and how it has provided Kentuckians and visitors unforgettable experiences for ages. He also said it\u2019s to be the largest campground renovation in the state parks system this round, and he\u2019s looking forward to the \u201cnew memories families will create\u201d by visiting there.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Located at 542 Kenlake Road in Hardin, Kenlake State Resort Park is uniquely nestled at the confluence of Trigg, Calloway and Marshall counties. It\u2019s long been considered a vacation and business retreat, with its resort mere minutes away from Land Between the Lakes, Aurora and Murray.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
