A new campground at Hammocks Beach State Park will be tentatively opening on Labor Day following a ribbon-cutting in August.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The new 22-site campground, which will be called Simmons Mainland Campground, and will be located on the former Simmons FFA campsite, according to the Swansboro Area Chamber of Commerce.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The ribbon cutting will happen on Saturday, August 10.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n According to the Swansboro Area Chamber of Commerce, “the layout of the 8-acre campground will afford campers views of Queens Creek and the wooded areas that border the four cabins, 12 RV hook-ups, three primitive and seven non-electrical sites. There is a common bathhouse with showers and toilets for men and women. Each site has an outdoor, steel fire pit for cooking and or burning wood. RV hook-up sites will rent for $36 per night while non-electric sites will cost campers $26 per night.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The four cabins\u2014named Trout, Mullet, Flounder and Red Drum\u2014can accommodate up to six people with a large bed in the front room with two sets of bunk beds in the rear portion of the climate-controlled cabin. Each cabin will be rented for $78 per night.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Campers will be able to make reservations online at https:\/\/www.ncparks.gov\/state-parks\/hammocks-beach-state-park<\/a>.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
