Gov. Kay Ivey announced that Jackson\u2019s Kimball Lake and Parker Lake RV parks have been included in a $2 million investment the state is making in recreational trails for public use.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to a press released from the governor\u2019s office, $350,000 has been allocated to construct a 1,000-foot-long, 8-foot-wide, multi-use boardwalk at Kimball Lake. The boardwalk is the first phase of a project that when completed will connect Kimball Lake RV Park with Parker Lake RV Park, both located near the Tombigbee River.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTrails are the ideal invitation to get people outdoors to enjoy the fresh air and Alabama\u2019s scenic natural beauty,\u201d Ivey said. \u201cI am pleased to announce these projects which will provide even more opportunities for Alabamians to enjoy outdoor recreation.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ivey awarded the grants from funds made available by the Federal Highway Administration\u2019s Recreational Trails Program.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
